Bill and Melinda Gates' Scholarship
Bill and Melinda Gates have branded themselves as successful philantropists who believe that education is the only key to global poverty eradication and solution of global problems. For this reason, they have generously established the Gates Cambridge Scholarship: an unique opportunity to pursue gradute studies in one of the most prestigious universitites in the world.
You can apply for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship if you are:
- a citizen of any country outside the United Kingdom.
- applying to pursue one of the following full-time residential courses of study at the University of Cambridge: PhD (three year research-only degree); MSc or MLitt (two year research-only degree); or a one year postgraduate course (e.g. MPhil, LLM, MASt, Diploma, MBA etc.)
The ideal candidate will have a long history and proof of academic success, educational and professional excellence, as well as strong leadership potential. A defining characteristic of the Gates Cambridge Scholarships is the commitment of the Scholars to working for the greater good. Although broadly interpreted, this concept is nonetheless fundamental and sets this programme apart from others of its kind.
