Why the Ice Bucket is an Ice Bucket
Recently you may have heard of the Ice Bucket Challenge or seen famous people on TV pour a bucket of water over themselves (or a bucket of cash as Charlie Sheen did). This campaign aims to raise awareness of the ALS disease.
1. So what is ALS?
ALS, aka Lou Gehrig Disease is a non-infectious deadly disease that makes you body muscles stop one by one until you die usually around 3 years after diagnose.
2. So what is ice bucket to do with this?
Try to put your hand in ice cold water and leave it like this for a while. You start feeling numb, as if your muscle is out of your control anymore.
On 03.Apr. 2012 the ALS Foundation published an amazing ad campaign. They recorded ALS diagnosed people with a message and published it soon thereafter... when they died.
